Setup was easy, I just put in the usb cord, which is a good quality cord and long, then selected the mic through the program I was using to record. After plugging it in, monitoring via the headphone jack sounded a little on the thin/flat side, so I was a little skeptical that it was going to sound decent during recording. I was impressed by the build during the unboxing phase. My wife got me this as a gift for my game streaming project. Music background: Music writer, player, recorder and podcaster The boxes even work great for storage/transport if you need to. While I don"t see me using it, the ability to mount on a mic stand is nice. Solid construction, and the tilt movement isn"t great as well. They are a bit warm, but not heavy on low frequencies, because I found myself adjusting them in production a bit. It"s not dead of course, but with adjustment, I was able to get great performance. Even just a few feet away, the mics when positioned well, pick up very little ambiant sound. The cardioid pattern is excellent, and does a good job at directing its pickup. I read a few reviews, liked the price point, so I jumped and bought three. Make matters worse, our podcast goes out to public areas, and without having dedicated mics for each, it was impossible to control the ambiant noise. I cohost a podcast with two others, and we had been doing a variety of different setups with a Focusrite 2channel for the first few episodes, and they simply weren"t working very well (it was originally only going to be two of us). Host and producer of my own radio program, 8+ months. Music background: Volunteer ‘Shift’DJ, 2+ years.
